A benchmarking request is a formal ask for data or information used to compare an organization's performance metrics, processes, business practices, strategies or outcomes against those of other entities.
Typically, such requests will come from outside entities such as other institutions, consultants, industry groups, etc. By participating in a benchmarking study/survey, it is generally expected that results will be shared with all participating entities.
