Prerequisites
Essential Information
- All excess property regardless of age, value, functionality, inventorial or non-inventorial must be processed for disposal through Surplus Sales.
- Surplus Transfer Requests (STRs) are generated in the Campus Asset Management System (CAMS).
- CAMS is an asset management application that can be found on blink under Business Tools.
- Both inventorial and non-inventorial equipment can be sent to Surplus.
Next Steps
How To:
- Log in to CAMS.
- Click on Surplus in the Left Menu.
- Click Create
- Fill out all "*" fields, check the box saying that "I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions", and then click Create.
- On the next screen, you can add your UCIDs that need to be transferred. Once all UCIDs have been added, click the Submit For Approval button.
- If you need to add Non-Inventorial (NI) Equipment (Items costing less than $5000 without an Asset ID number), click on Create New Asset.
- Fill in the description, add a photo if you'd like, and then click Save & Done.
- One NI number can house many items that do not have an existing Asset ID.
- Once all of your assets have been added to the Surplus Transfer Request, click on Submit for Approval.
- An email will then be sent to your Department Equipment Custodian(s) for approval.
