Overview
This article covers how to delete a resource commitment record through the Delete Commitment action on Task 7.2 Enter Basic Resource Commitment Data. The following steps are for users of Excel Smart View.
Essential Information
- KB0035852: How to Delete a Resource Commitment Record in RCAM (EPBCS Web App) is a separate article.
- The Delete Commitment action can be run from Task 7.2A Enter Basic Resource Commitment Data – Simplified or Task 7.2B Enter Basic Resource Commitment Data – Full, but the following instructions will refer to Task 7.2A Enter Basic Resource Commitment Data-Simplified.
- Records can only be deleted from the Base Commitment record.
- Running the Delete Commitment action completely deletes all data stored on the Base Commitment and Transfer In Commitment records tied to the relevant Resource Commitment ID (CTID).
- Once the Delete Commitment action is run, there is no way to recover the data.
- After a record is deleted, the Resource Commitment ID (CTID) is returned to the pool of available CTIDs to claim via Task 7.1 Activate Resource Commitment ID – SELECT SOURCE POV.
Next Steps
Connecting via EPBCS Web Application
- Locate the record you intend to delete on Task 7.2A - for detailed instructions on this process, refer to KB0033716: How to Locate a Resource Commitment Record in RCAM (Smart View).
- Once you have located the Base Commitment for the record to be deleted, right click on the Resource Commitment ID (CTID) to generate the Action Menu.
- Within the Action Menu, select Smart View then Delete Commitment.
- A prompt window will appear – verify that all details are correctly populated with the values of the record you intend to delete.

- In the final prompt box, select Yes from ‘Selecting Yes will completely remove Commitment’.
NOTE: While the Delete Commitment action can only be successfully run from the Base Commitment record, this action will also delete any corresponding Transfer In record.
- In the bottom of the Delete Commitment prompt window, click Yes, I want to delete commitment.

- A pop-up message will appear indicating that the delete was successful. Click OK to close this message.
- Use the Search (Ctrl + F) function on Task 7.2 to verify that the CTID no longer appears on the form.
- Navigate to Task 7.1 Activate Resource Commitment ID – SELECT SOURCE POV to verify that the CTID is now available to claim again.
