Overview
This article provides instructions on how to submit a pick-up request to STORE for any compressed gas cylinders that are empty or no longer needed.
Essential Information
- Departments can request STORE to pick up any compressed gas cylinders that are empty or no longer needed.
- If you intend on purchasing replacement tanks from STORE, you do not need to submit an empty cylinder request as our driver will pick up any cylinders that are clearly marked "Empty" or "For Pickup" when completing the delivery. This helps minimize the number of trips our driver makes to your location.
- NOTE: STORE is unable to pick up any liquid gas dewars. These must be picked up by the supplier directly:
Prerequisites
To complete this KBA, you will need the following information:
- Location of gas cylinder(s) (building and room number)
- Number of gas cylinder(s) to be picked up
- STORE asset tag for each individual cylinder
- The STORE asset tag number is the five- or six-digit code (one or two letters followed by four numbers, ex. A-0000 or AA0000) that can be found on each individual cylinder, on the UCSD STORE barcoded sticker.
-
- If you are unable to locate an asset tag on your cylinder, please submit a ticket to us in Services & Support. Including a picture of your cylinders will be helpful for our team!
