Overview
- The Cumulative Research Report provides an overview of award and contract budget balances and revenue balances
- This report best serves to provide campus and central office financial data users with budget and actual revenue/expenditure details
- The Budget balance summary results are based on the Award Number selected and shows the Award, Project, and Task’s Budget amount, costs, total committed cost, and balance
- The Revenue balance summary results are based on the Contract Number selected and shows the Contract Number, Project Number, and Task Number Revenue amount, cost, total committed cost and revenue balance
Critical Concepts
- The UCSD Grants Management and PPM Reporting Role are required to access/view this report
- This report is only for sponsored projects
- The report always runs for Inception to date
- The Budget Balance Summary table includes the revenue at award level
- Revenue Transactions display as positive amounts under Costs column
- These transactions are pulled from Project billing and Event billing
- Financial Resources category is the budget category to indicate the restricted balance on NIH awards

- The Revenue Balance Summary table includes revenue at the contract level, because it is without any Project or Task, it is displayed at top of Summary
- Revenue Transactions are displayed under Revenue Amount, these transactions are pulled from Project billing and Event billing

Steps to Take
1. Go to https://reports.ucsd.edu
2. Select Budget & Finance tab, in Project Portfolio Management section, select Cumulative Research Report
3. Multiple values aren't allowed for single parameters
4. Enter your Report parameters, the only required report parameter is Award/Contract
5. Accounting Period Parameter is Inception to selected accounting period, e.g. if Nov-20 is selected, the report data displayed is for inception thru Nov-20
6. Click Apply

7. To Export Your Report to Excel, click on the gear icon and select Export to Excel
8. Select either Export Current Page or Export Entire Dashboard, exporting the Entire Dashboard, won't allow you to pull all pages if the Detail sections have multiple pages
