Follow these steps to set up your Chromebook computer to use the WPA2-E encrypted campus wireless network at UC San Diego, UCSD-PROTECTED.

Before you begin, you must have:

• An Active Directory (AD) username and password. Your username is usually the first part of your UCSD email address (before the @ symbol). If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it at password.ucsd.edu.

Steps to Take

1. Select the UCSD-PROTECTED network.
2. EAP Method: Select PEAP.
3. Phase 2 Authentication: Select MSCHAPV2.
4. For CA Certificate, you typically have two options:
   
   1. Select N/A, (unspecified), or Do not validate.
   2. Select Use system certificates.
      
      1. Online Certificate Status: Select Do not validate.
      2. Domain: Enter ucsd.edu
5. Identity: Enter your Active Directory username.
6. Anonymous Identity: Leave blank or enter anonymous@ucsd.edu.
7. Password: Enter your Active Directory password.
8. Click Connect.
