Find Kaltura Entries Affected by Media Retention Policies


Overview


Though each Kaltura user at UC San Diego has unlimited media storage, all media are subject to UC San Diego's media retention policies. While you can read about the policy in full at https://mediaretention.ucsd.edu, here's a quick summary:

UC San Diego periodically performs a "media cleanup" based on these policies. Affected users are notified in advance of any action taken on their media. This article details how to find any entries of yours that are affected by media retention policies.

To find your Kaltura entries affected by UC San Diego's media retention policies, you can do it one of two ways:

Fortunately, we're able to provide direct links to search results in MediaSpace. To see a list of your entries that are affected by any of the policies, visit one of the links below:

You should now be in "My Media" (within MediaSpace) looking at a list of media affected by a particular media retention policy.

You can also search for affected entries yourself.

  1. Log into MediaSpace if you aren't already:
    1. Within a web browser, go to https://mediaspace.ucsd.edu.
    2. Click the profile icon near the top right of the screen and click Login.
    3. Enter your active directory credentials. 
  2. Click the profile icon again and select My Media.
  3. On the left side of the page, click Media Retention Policy Status to expand the options. 
  4. Check any of the boxes to perform a search for entries affected by that policy.
