Configuring Android to Use Encrypted (WPA2-E) Wireless (Wi-Fi) Services at UCSD

Follow these steps to set up your Android device running Android 2.0.x and above to use WPA2-E encrypted wireless at UCSD.

Before you begin, you must have:

1. Configure your Wi-Fi.

2. Select the encrypted wireless service.

3. Configure UCSD-PROTECTED option.

  1. EAP Method: Select PEAP.
  2. Phase 2 Authentication: Select MSCHAPV2.
  3. For CA Certificate, you typically have two options:
    1. Select N/A, unspecified), or Do not validate.
    2. Select Use system certificates.
      • Online Certificate Status: Select Do not validate.
      • Domain: Enter
  4. Identity: Enter your Active Directory username.
  5. Anonymous Identity: Leave blank or enter
  6. Password: Enter your Active Directory password.
  7. Click Connect.

4. Verify your connection.

Under Wi-Fi, you should see Connected to UCSD-PROTECTED.
