Overview
Follow these steps change your recorded name and manage your regular and alternate voicemail greetings.

Critical Concepts
- You will be required to setup a Security Code before recording a personal name or voicemail greeting. See Setting up Voicemail to see how to setup a Security Code and record your greeting for the first time with UC San Diego Unified Messaging.
Steps to Take
Record Personal Greeting or Out of Office Greeting
This is what callers will hear in place of a voice mail message, if you have not recorded one. (To record a voice mail message, see Setting up Voice Mail)
- Dial 42000 from a campus phone or (858) 534-2000 from an off-campus location to reach UC San Diego Unified Messaging center, and enter your security code.
- Press 3 to reach the User Options menu.
- To record your greeting:
- Press 4 to record a Standard greeting
- Press 6 to record an Out of Office greeting
Record Your Name
- Press 3 to reach the User Options menu.
- Press 1 to reach Personal Options.
- Press 5 to record your name.
- Record your name after the tone. Then:
- Press 6 to review
- Press 4 to discard and start over
- Press 5 to save
