Check to see if the WalkMe Browser Extension is Blocked or Disabled

WalkMe is a digital adoption tool. With Walkme, you will receive direct communications from the project team, links to client support avenues, access to search Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs), automated processes to make you work more efficient, and contextual tips. In addition, to carefully crafted step-by-step guides to support your work.

When the WalkMe layer of technology is added to participating UC San Diego systems, we rely on the WalkMe web browser extension to deliver this functionality to end users. For this reason, we need everyone at UC San Diego to install the WalkMe browser extension.

Follow these steps to check to see if the WalkMe browser extension has been blocked or disabled before installing the browser extension.

The name of the WalkMe web browser extension changes depending on what browser you use. It will either be called an:

Instructions are arranged by web browser name. Please note that the WalkMe browser extension is not available for the Edge web browser.

Steps to Take


Chrome Web Browser

Steps

  1. Open Chrome and click the vertical dotes in the upper right-hand corner of the screen

  1. Click on More Tools
  2. Click on Extensions

  1. If Walkme is there:
    1. Click on Details and make sure the dot on the slider is to the right
    2. If the slider is off, move it to switch on
  1. If Walkme isn’t there, or if these steps do not work:

 

Firefox Web Browser

Steps

  1. To find out if it is disabled or blocked, click the menu

  1. Click add-ons
  2. You will see three options
    • Enabled
    • Disabled
    • Recommended Extensions

  1. If it is in the enabled area, try quitting and re-opening your browser and/or clicking on the cog wheel icon on and select check for updates.
  1. If Walkme isn’t there, or if these steps do not work:

 

Safari Web Browser

Steps

  1. Click on Safari in the upper left-hand side of the window
  2. Click on Preferences
  3. Select the Extensions icon

  1. WalkMe should be located in the left column and the box to the left of it is checked
    • If not checked, check the box by clicking on it.
  2. If Walkme isn’t there, or if these steps do not work:

 

Edge and Safari Web Browser

The WalkMe browser extension is not available for the Edge web browser.
