Overview
This article has been provided to show you how to remove the WalkMe browser extension from your computer for both Windows and Mac OS.
Critical Concepts
- WalkMe was brought to campus as a temporary solution to support user adoption of new enterprise systems related to the Enterprise Systems Renewal program. Having served its purpose, and with limits to its application and use, WalkMe is no longer available, as of January 1, 2024.
Windows Computer
If you have a local IT team, please check with them as they may have to remove the WalkMe extension for you if the Remove button/link is not present.
Chrome
- Click the vertical ellipsis ⋮ in the upper right-hand Chrome browser window and select Settings
- On the left pane select Extensions
- There will be a search field in the middle of the page with Search extensions: type WalkMe Extension to access the extension
- Click the Remove button next to the Details button
Firefox
- Click the collapsed menu ≡ in the upper right-hand Firefox browser window and select Settings
- On the left pane select Extensions & Themes
- On the left pane select Extensions to open the Manage Your Extensions page
- Click the ellipsis ⋯ on the right-hand side of the WalkMe extension to access the menu and click Remove
- Click Remove in the confirmation dialog box
Edge
- Click the ellipsis ⋯ in the upper right-hand Edge browser window and select Extensions
- From the Extensions dropdown menu select Manage extensions
- Click the Remove link on the WalkMe Extension
- Click Remove in the confirmation dialog box
Opera
- Click the Cube icon in the upper right-hand Opera browser window and select Manage extensions...
- Select the vertical ellipsis ⋮ next to the WalkMe Extension and click Remove extension
- Click Remove in the confirmation dialog box
MacOS Computer
If you have a local IT team, please check with them as they may have to remove the WalkMe extension for you if the Remove button/link is not present.
Safari
- Open the Safari browser
- Go to the Safari menu at the top of the screen and select Settings from the drop-down menu
- Click the Extensions tab at the top of the settings box
- Find WalkMe then uncheck the box
- Quit Safari
- Go to the Applications folder and throw the WalkMe Extension in the trash
Firefox
- Click the collapsed menu ≡ in the upper right-hand Firefox browser window and select Settings
- On the left pane select Extensions & Themes
- On the left pane select Extensions to open the Manage Your Extensions page
- Click the ellipsis ⋯ on the right-hand side of the WalkMe extension to access the menu and click Remove
- Click Remove in the confirmation dialog box
Chrome
- Click the vertical ellipsis ⋮ in the upper right-hand Chrome browser window and select Settings
- On the pane to the left select Extensions
- There will be a search field in the middle of the page with Search extensions: type WalkMe Extension to access
- Click the Remove button next to the Details button
