Overview
Follow these steps to set up your Windows computer to use the WPA2-E encrypted campus wireless at UC San Diego, UCSD-PROTECTED.
Critical Concepts
Before you begin, you must have:
- An Active Directory (AD) username and password. Your username is usually the first part of your UCSD e-mail address (before the @ symbol). If you have forgotten your password, reset it at password.ucsd.edu.
- Windows version 10/11. Any Windows version below 10 does not receive security updates anymore and presents a security risk to the UCSD network.
Steps to Take
Windows 10/11
- Click on the Wireless Network Connection icon on the bottom right of your screen near the system clock.
- Click on the UCSD-PROTECTED network.
- Ensure the "Connect automatically" box is checked and click Connect.
- Enter your Active Directory username and password.
