Overview


UC San Diego-hosted student organization websites will no longer be offered, beginning the 2024-2025 academic year. Organizations that currently have a UC San Diego-hosted website will maintain service through the Fall 2024 quarter, but will need migrate any relevant content to a non-UC San Diego website by December 13, 2024

Why are university-hosted websites being discontinued?

Registered student organizations are considered independent third parties to the university and are not official units or departments of UC San Diego. Therefore, UC San Diego is not responsible for the acts or omissions of registered student organizations and/or any members/persons acting on behalf of those student organizations.

How can I find a new location or platform that will host my student organization's website?

Recommended and easy-to-use platforms you might consider include WordPress, Wix, or Squarespace.

How can people find my site if its not hosted by the university?

The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) office will continue to operate a current listing of all registered student organizations at studentorg.ucsd.edu, including directing visitors to any external websites or social media accounts that you note as representing your organization.

Will UC San Diego still provide my student organization with an @ucsd.edu email address?

Yes, your organization will continue to receive a dedicated @ucsd.edu email address and Google Drive storage. For more information, please see this article.
