We do our best to protect and recover your data, but we cannot guarantee that we have the files you need. Please contact us as soon as possible for the highest likelihood for an email or file recovery.
Messages deleted within the last 25 days may be recoverable. Provide the recovery date or date range to the Service Desk and we will attempt to recover them from your mailbox. Any existing messages currently in your inbox will not be removed.
After 25 days, any deleted messages are deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. After that, the data is gone forever. If the date requested is more than 25 days, we will restore from the oldest backup available.
Your mailbox is scheduled for removal in the second consecutive quarter after your last quarter of enrollment. You can read more about reasons accounts are closed here.
We can recover your mailbox as long as your account has not been removed from the server. Once your account is no longer available on the server, an email recovery is no longer possible.
Documents deleted from your Drive or Team Drive within the last 25 days may be recoverable. Requesting a file recovery for your UC San Diego Google account and the date or date range you want your Drive recovered from.
If a shared document was recovered, you will need to re-share the item for others to have access.

Be sure to save any important files you wish to keep under Computer → Network Location:
Any files left behind on the desktop of the ETS lab computer may be lost or deleted.
If you lose a file, you should first check the exact computer you were logged into and look for your username in the lost+found folder.
If you can't find your files, contact the Service Desk requesting a file recovery with the computer name (e.g. ITS-GL2E-PC12) and the date you last had the file.
If you lost, overwrote, or didn't back up a file on an ETS instructional server (e.g. ieng6.ucsd.edu), please contact us promptly, as we may be able to restore recently deleted files.
