ITS Supported Options

Campus Content Management System (CMS)

ITS Workplace Technology Services (WTS) supports the campus CMS. They set up and manage the framework, provide training and answer questions about best content management practices. To attain a CMS site:

• You must be affiliated with an academic department or program or official ORU, or a Health Sciences (clinical) or School of Medicine site. 
• The site must be permanent. One-time events, notices, and other temporary items should be placed on an existing website.
• Someone in your area must commit to owning and updating the website on a regular basis.
• Agree to use the standard campus-wide templates.
• Have a Business Systems account for accessing the CMS.

Campus Content Management System (CMS)

• General CMS sites: For campus and School of Medicine departments and centers with a public-facing focus. 
• Blink: For departments with information aimed at faculty and staff.
• TritonLink: For departments with information aimed at students.

Simple Sites

Simple Sites is a managed WordPress hosting environment where you can create a basic website or blog with UC San Diego-branded templates that conform to accessibility standards.

Sharepoint

Microsoft SharePoint provides a collaboration workspace that integrates with Office 365 apps and services. Sharepoint is set up behind an Active Directory login and managers can set user roles.

Course sites are available from  Educational Technology Services (ETS) and  Medical Education Technology ( MedEDTech)

• Jacobs School of Engineering’s Office of Engineering Computing: General website hosting and web development
• Scripps IT: For the Scripps community, including the Birch Aquarium, California Sea Grant and the Nimitz Marine Facility in Point Loma
• San Diego Supercomputer Center's Web & Database Hosting (SDSC WebDB): For any UC site. Supports WordPress, Drupal, ExpressionEngine, as well as custom applications and frameworks. A complimentary MySQL database is provided for use with the website.
• UC Health: For new Health system website requests, or support for Pulse websites, please submit a Health IS ServiceNow request.
• Options for advanced developers: Review this information for developing your own site or application.

The UC San Diego Mobile App is a location-based mobile app that connects you to campus information such as real-time shuttles, news, events and weather.
