Overview
In order to access the internet in ResNet areas, you must be connected to the correct ResNet Wi-Fi network that matches the location you are in. The following article is a guide on how to check for the networks you are connected to.
Critical Concepts
- SSID: Service Set Identifier

- Name of the Wifi network (e.g. RESNET-MUIR-E)

Steps to Take
Check what network names (SSIDs) are displaying for you.
Windows
- Click Settings > Network & Internet

- Click on "Show Available Networks." Verify that you are able to see RESNET-LOCATION-E (e.g., RESNET-MUIR-E) and RESNET-LOCATION (e.g., RESNET-MUIR)

- If there are missing networks / networks aren't displaying for a device in an area that should have coverage, this is most likely wireless card, driver, OS related issues. Please refer to step 11 on the full troubleshooting guide: KB0033280.
Mac
- Click System Preferences > Network > Network Name

- Verify that you are able to see RESNET-LOCATION-E (e.g., RESNET-MUIR-E) and RESNET-LOCATION (e.g., RESNET-MUIR)

- If there are missing networks / networks aren't displaying for 1 device in an area that should have coverage, this is most likely wireless card, driver, OS related issues. Please see step 11.
