Reset Voicemail PIN Code


Overview


Follow these steps to reset the voice mail PIN for your desk phone from the email Outlook Web App (OWA). 

If your UCSD email account has been migrated to Microsoft Exchange (access your email on the web at outlook.office365.com), then follow the Microsoft Exchange Steps.  If your UCSD email account is on Campus Exchange (access your email on the web at mail.ucsd.edu), then follow the Campus Exchange Steps.

Note: If your voicemail has been upgraded to the new Unified Messaging service (where you access voicemail at (858) 534-2000), these instructions will no longer work.  To reset your Security Code (formerly a PIN), contact the ITS Service Desk by submitting a ticket or calling (858) 246-4357

Steps to Take


Microsoft Exchange Steps

1. Log in to your UC San Diego email account on the Outlook 365 Web App.

2. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click on the gear icon to expand the Settings menu.

3. Near the bottom of the menu, find Your app settings and click on Mail:

4. In the upper-left side of the screen, click on GeneralVoice mailReset PIN.  This will send a temporary PIN to your email.

5. Dial your voice mail access number, (858) 534-8000, and enter your phone extension.

6. Enter the temporary PIN.

7. You will be prompted to set a new PIN.  Please enter a PIN which meets the following guidelines:

 

Campus Exchange Steps

1. Log in to your UC San Diego email account on Campus Exchange Mail online: mail.ucsd.edu

2. In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click Options --> Sell All Options...

3. On the next screen select Phone, then select Voice Mail.

4. Select Reset my voice mail PIN... to receive a temporary voice mail PIN sent to your email.

5. After you receive the email with your temporary PIN, dial your voice mail access number, (858) 534-6245 and enter your phone extension.

6. Enter the temporary PIN.

7. You will be prompted to set a new PIN.  Please enter a PIN which meets the following guidelines:
