Transfer Calls on Desk Phone


Overview


Follow these steps to transfer calls on a campus digital or analog desk phone.  This is a standard feature available on all campus desk phones.

 

Steps to Take


Digital phone

  1. Press an unlit Access button on your phone to place the call on exclusive hold
  2. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the existing call to
  3. Either wait for the first ring, or stay on the line to announce the call
  4. Press the transfer button
  1. Note: If the line you're trying to reach is busy, press the access button to return to the caller.

Analog phone

  1. Press the R, lightning bolt, or flash button
  2. Listen for a recall dial tone (3 beeps and a dial tone)
  3. Dial the number to which you want to transfer the call
  4. Either wait for the first ring or stay on the line to announce the call
  5. Hang up the handset

    Note: If the person you're trying to reach is on the line or doesn’t answer, press the R or lightning bolt, or flash button once and listen for the recall dial tone. Press the R, lightning bolt, or flash button again to return to the caller.
