As an emeritus faculty or retiree, you may have the option to keep a UCSD email address or setup email forwarding after leaving the university. Locate your affiliation from the list below to see your options for maintaining a UCSD email address after leaving UCSD.

Emeritus Faculty

If you are emeritus faculty, please work with your department systems administrator or Department Security Administrator (DSA) to extend your UCSD email account into retirement.

Retirement Association Members

If you join the Retirement Association, you will have the option of retaining your UCSD email by following these steps:

1. Become a member of the UCSD Retirement Association. The email forwarding service is only available to current members of the UCSD Retirement Association.
2. Upon joining the association, a Retirement Association new member packet will be mailed to you. It will include instructions on how to obtain your new UCSD Campus Card along with a signed form you will use to obtain your new card. You must make an appointment with the Student Business Services office to obtain the card. Be sure to bring $25 and photo identification (passport, driver's license, or state ID card).
3. An email forwarding setup form will also be included with your new member package. If you prefer, you may complete the form online here once you have become a member and obtained your new Affiliate card. The Affiliate number requested on this form is located on the back of the new Affiliate card. If you choose to complete the printed form, please mail it to the Retirement Association at:
   UCSD Retirement Association/ 9500 Gilman Drive, Dept. 0020/ La Jolla, CA 92093-0020. Please note, it will take longer if you mail the form.

The Retirement Association will notify you when your email forwarding account is established.

Please keep your email address current with the Retirement Association.

Note: The University reserves the right to assign email privileges and to prohibit or revoke those privileges as it deems necessary.

Health Sciences Staff

For Health Sciences retirees, UC San Diego Health Policy No. MCP 18.1 states retirees are not able to continue using their current UCSD email. Health retirees will no longer automatically obtain a new @ucsd.edu email address eligible for email forwarding. We advise retirees to contact the UCSD Retirement Association and check their eligibility for a new email account at (858) 534-4724 or RetireeLink@ucsd.edu.
