Use Individual Abbreviated Dial on Your Desktop Phone


Overview


The individual abbreviated dial feature allows you to program up to 10 frequently dialed telephone numbers on your dial-pad key 0 thru 9 to act as a speed dial (maximum 20 digits).

Steps to Take


Program (or change) an abbreviated number

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press * 5 1 *, the abbreviated number (0 – 9), and *
  3. Enter the actual telephone number (include 8 for an off-campus number).
  4. Press #.
  5. Listen for the confirmation tone — 3 beeps.
  6. After you hear the confirmation tone, hang up.

Make a call using one of your programmed numbers.

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press * * and the abbreviated number (0 - 9).
  3. The number you have programmed will be automatically dialed.

Cancel a single number.

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press * 5 1 *, the abbreviated number (0 – 9), and #
  3. Listen for the confirmation tone — 3 beeps.
  4. After you hear the confirmation tone, hang up.

Cancel all abbreviated numbers.

  1. Lift the handset.
  2. Press # 5 1 #
