Who can sign up for a Zoom account?

All faculty, staff, and students with an @uscd.edu email address may sign up for a Licensed (Pro) Zoom account. Please sign up for an account at https://ucsd.zoom.us.

If you are a Health employee, UCSD Health has their own instance of Zoom. Users can register for Health Zoom on https://zoom.uchealth.edu/

How much does Zoom cost me or my group?

The UC San Diego IT Services department is covering the cost for UC San Diego account holders. Additional expanded licensing for large meetings, and Webinars are available through IT Services. To purchase additional license, please fill out a Zoom Request Form.

Can I invite anyone to a Zoom meeting?

Yes.  Anyone in the world can be invited to join a Zoom meeting. Only the host needs a Zoom account.

Where can I learn more about Zoom features?

Zoom's support site provides a wide range of How-to articles about navigating through their wide range of features and tools. Their site can be found on support.zoom.us. 

You can always call the ITS Service Desk for further questions about Zoom features. 

My Zoom account is reflecting a wrong email address. How can I fix this error? 

If your Zoom profile is reflecting the wrong account information, please contact us at the ITS Service Desk. This error may also result in not being able to be added as a co-host or having access to certain integrations, such as Zoom LTI in Canvas. When seeing this error, please fill out a Zoom Request Form to get it fixed. You can also call the ITS Service Desk for more information. 

What do I do if my workstation keeps having difficulty running Zoom - It crashes?

Try uninstalling Zoom on your workstation and then reinstalling it. If you can’t get it to work, use phone or tablet and call ITS Service Desk for help with your workstation.

What do I do if my WiFi seems to be having trouble?

Try turning your webcam off, switch to cell phone for the audio, and use your tablet or workstation for any screen sharing.

What do I do if my cell data seems to having problems?

You are able to dial in to the call without using data. More information can be found on Zoom’s site: Joining a Meeting or Webinar by Phone.

What do I do if my consumer VPN service on my device seems to be having trouble?

Try turning the consumer VPN service off.

Can I log into a Zoom session more than once?

Yes, you can use multiple devices at the same time.
