Instructions to guide you through the steps required to connect your Android device to UC San Diego Gmail.
Steps to Take
Go to the home screen of your Android device by clicking on the home button (bottom of screen, circular middle button).
From the middle of your Android device, swipe down to get to the search bar.
Type Gmail, then select the Gmail app.
After you select the Gmail app, your personal email will most likely display. Add your UC San Diego email by clicking on the three lines to display a menu.
Go to the bottom of the list and select Settings.
Select Add account.
Select Google.
Type in your UC San Diego email address.
If you receive a message asking you to choose between multiple Gmail accounts, select G Suite account / An account owned by ucsd.edu
You'll be redirected to a UC San Diego sign-in page. Sign in with your UC San Diego email address and password.
You'll be required to accept dual-factor authentication. Select Send Me a Push.
The Gmail app will add your UC San Diego email, then take you back to Settings. Keep selecting the back arrow until you see your email.
Switch from your personal e-mail to your UC San Diego email: Locate and select the circular profile icon at top right.
From the list, select your UC San Diego email address.
When setup is complete, your UC San Diego email will display.
