How to Open Incognito/Private Window


Overview


The following will cover how to open incognito/private windows on different browsers. 
 

Critical Concepts


When your applications are not working correctly or pop up windows are missing, it is good practice to try an incognito window. If the applications work on an incognito window, then clear cache and cookies to resolve the issue.

Steps to Take


Incognito Window in Google Chrome 

  1. Open up a Google Chrome window.
  2. Click on the three dots at the right side of the window under the "X" 
  3. Click "New Incognito Window" 

The same process applies for Chrome windows in the phone browser. 

              

Private Window in Safari (Web Browser)

  1. Open up a Safari window
  2. Click on File > New Private Window 

Private Window in Safari (Phone Browser)

  1. Open up a Safari window
  2. Click on the 2 squares at the bottom right corner. 

                 

  3. Click "Private" on the bottom left corner. 

                 

  4. Click on "+" in the middle of the bottom bar. 

                 

 

Private Window in Microsoft Edge 

  1. Open up a Microsoft Edge window
  2. Click on the three dots at the right side of the window under the "X" 
  3. Click New InPrivate Window

Private Window in Firefox

  1. Open up a Firefox Window
  2. Click on the three bars at the right side of the window under the "X"
  3. Click on New Private Window

Private Window in Samsung Internet (Phone)

  1. Open up Samsung internet 
  2. Press on the two squares at the bottom right for a new window. 

                         

  3. Press on Turn on Secret Mode. This will open up a new private window. 

                         

  4. Go back to the two squares when you're done and press Turn off Secret Mode to return to normal.
