Accessing the QSB
The ISA QSB can be accessed at https://instructionalscheduling.ucsd.edu/scheduler/quarterly-schedule-builder
Main functions on the QSB homepage
This is where you can see and filter the courses initially input into the Annual Schedule Builder (ASB) and fine-tune class and instructor info.
- Once you input courses into the corresponding quarter on the ASB page, they will appear in the QSB. You must first input courses via the ASB (see KB0033134) before they will populate into the QSB.
- The QSB shows all your classes for a given quarter in a time table format displayed by the primary course component.
- To filter what information is being displayed, click the "Filters" link to open the filters screen. For more information, see How to Use Filters (KB0033161) (① above)
- A yellow warning bar will populate above the grid if there are scheduling errors or conflicts.
- Classes that have already been scheduled with an instructor and/or time from the ASB will appear in the QSB with that information populated. Classes that have not had an instructor or meeting time assigned will appear without that information.
- The course grid will show all courses assigned to the quarter(s) selected in the filters
- The calendar grid only displays the primary course component
- Courses that appear with a green calendar icon have already had scheduling information entered (② below); those with a red icon do not have scheduling information entered in the ISA (③ below).
- View course history for a class by clicking on the course number in the grid. This will open a new page that allows you to view the course details (④ below) and historical course info (⑤ below), as well as update the Administrator course note by typing in the text box and clicking "Update course note" (⑥ below).
- View instruction information (including contact information (⑦ below), teaching history (⑧ below), and inclusion in instructor groups (⑨ below) by clicking on the instructor's name in the ASB grid.
For instructions on adding scheduling information through the QSB, see How to Schedule Courses on the QSB (see KB0033144). When the schedule is ready to submit to the Registrar's office, you must click the "Proceed to Schedule Submission Wizard" button on this page. (see KB)
