Students and staff who reset their password on password.ucsd.edu receive an option to receive a password reset link if they do not know their current password. This link is sent to your personal email. The following article outlines the steps to change your personal email that receives the password reset link from password.ucsd.edu.

• Staff and faculty should change their “home email” on UCPath. 
• Students can change their personal email via MyTritonlink.

Employees: Steps to Take

Employees need to change their “home email” on UCPath. This change will take 24 hours to be applied to the password change tool.

1. Log into UCPath.
   • Don’t have access to UCPath and can’t change your password on password.ucsd.edu? Contact the Service Desk at servicedesk@ucsd.edu, (858) 246-4357, or by submitting a ticket. 
2. Click “Personal Information” 
3. Click “Personal Information Summary” 
4. Input your security question as prompted
5. Scroll down to “Email Addresses” and click “Change Email Addresses"
   
   
   
   
6. Either click “Add” on the top right corner to add a home address, or press your existing "home" address to change the email to a different one. 
   • When adding your personal email address for the first time, make sure your "Email Type" is selected to "Home." Though there are multiple personal email address types in UCPath, only the Home one will be used for AD password resets."  
     
     
     
     
7. Input the personal email address you’d like and click “Save”

1. Log into MyTritonlink
   
   • Don't have access to MyTritonlink? Try changing your password using the instructions on: Reset your Student Account Password
   • If you still are unable to access MyTritonlink, contact the Service Desk at servicedesk@ucsd.edu, (858) 246-4357, or by submitting a ticket. 
2.  On the top navigation bar, go to "Personal Tools" and then "Addresses."
   
   
   
   
3. In the "Addresses" page, click on the "Student Email Address" tab. From here, you can change your personal email address on record. 
4. Enter the new email address and click "Save"
