Overview
This article covers how to create a bar chart in the Platform Analytics Experience for agents in ServiceNow.
Critical Concepts
- You can create your own bar chart visualizations in the Analytics Center with any data table from ServiceNow.
- There are several data filters and customizations that can be done to better represent your data.
- This article will cover creating a bar chart from the Task table with conditions for my groups, created last year, grouped by agent, stacked service, and customized colors.
Steps to Take
Create a Visualization
- In Agent View, via the All menu, type in 'Platform Analytics', and select "Analytics Center".
- On the main Analytics Center page, scroll down and click on "Create a new visualization"
Select and Filter Data Source
- Click on "Add data source"
- Find and select the Table that you want. For this article, we will proceed with the Task table.
- Click on "+ Add custom conditions" to add filters.
- To filter for my groups, add a condition for "Assignment group", operator "is (dynamic)", and value "One of My Groups". This will filter for all groups that you are a part of. To also filter for tasks created last year, add an "and" condition for "Created", operator "on", and value "Last year".
- Create the visualization by clicking "Add this source" in the bottom right.
Configure Visualization
- Under the Configuration sidebar, select the "Visualization type" as Horizontal/Vertical bar.
- Group by any desired field. In this demonstration we will group by agent. This can be achieved by clicking on the "Group by" section and selecting the field "Assigned to" and "Name" within the Assigned to object. Click "Apply" once you have added your Group bys.
- Additionally, you can add another "Group by" to create a stacked bar chart. We will do the same process as the previous step to add a "Group by" for Service. Now the "Group by" configuration will look like this:
- To customize the bar colors, scroll down to the "Color" section, click on the dropdown, and select any color palette available:
- In the end, your bar chart will look something like this:
- From here you can bookmark this graph or add it to a dashboard.
