Individual assignment groups (such as ITS-SNOW) each fall under an organization (such as IT Services), which is the top-level grouping of teams within the system. Organizations do not necessarily reflect the unit structure of the University and are more centered around the type of support provided and the audience they are intended to support. Organizations have their own email header and signature for the otherwise standardized email notifications sent by the system.
Each customer portal (IT, Student support, Business and Finance, etc) corresponds with an organization (or multiple organizations) within ServiceNow.
Behind the scenes, we have 10+ organizations but not all have presence in the Self Service Portal and some are consolidated within a single option in the portal.
