Secure Connect: Uninstall Intune Company Portal


Overview


The following is a guide for unenrolling and uninstalling the Intune Company Portal from your device as well as Trellix and Qualys. 

Note: There have been instances where the "Remove" button to unenroll from Intune Company Portal has been greyed out or doesn't show up. If you come across these errors, please contact the ITS Service Desk at (858) 246-4357 or support@ucsd.edu. You can also submit a ticket at support.ucsd.edu.

Steps to Take


Mac

To unenroll from Intune Company Portal:

  1. Open the "Company Portal" application on your device.
  2. Under the "Devices" section, select the device that you would like to unenroll.
  3. Click on the three dots next to the device name.
  4. Click "Remove". This will NOT remove any applications or personal data from your device.
    • Once finished, there should be a message stating "This device is not managed" under your device name. You may also get a notification on your device stating that "Your computer has been unenrolled from device management."

To uninstall Intune Company Portal:

  1. Open the "Finder" on your device.
  2. Using the search button, search up "Company Portal." Alternatively, you can scroll through your apps until you see the "Company Portal" application.
  3. Right-click on "Company Portal" and select "Move to Trash".
  4. Next, open "Trash" on your device.
  5. Right-click "Company Portal" and click on "Delete Immediately..." to uninstall and delete only this application from your trash.
    • The "Company Portal" will be successfully uninstalled once you can no longer see it within "Trash" or under Finder > Applications.

To uninstall Trellix (also known as FireEye Helper):

  1. Open the "Terminal" application on your device.
  2. Copy and paste the following command into the prompter: sudo /Library/FireEye/xagt/uninstall.tool --remove-helper
  3. Enter the the administrator password when prompted. (This may be the same as your computer login credentials.)
  4. Copy and paste the following command into the prompter: ps aux | grep xagt
    1. If the terminal looks similar to the following, then the Trellix software has been successfully uninstalled. If it does not, please retry steps 2 and 4

  5. Once uninstalled, you should no longer see the application "FireEye Helper" in your applications.

To uninstall Qualys:

  1. Open the "Terminal" application on your device.
  2. Copy and paste the following command into the prompter: sudo /Applications/QualysCloudAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/qagent_uninstall.sh
  3. Enter the administrator password when prompted. (This may be the same as your computer login credentials.)
  4. Once uninstalled, you should no longer see the application "QualysCloudAgent" in your applications. 

Windows

To unenroll from Intune Company Portal:

  1. Open the "Company Portal" application on your device.
  2. Under "Your devices" on the Home page, click on the device that you would like to unenroll.
  3. In the box marked as "THIS DEVICE", click on the "Actions" drop-down menu and then click "Remove". This will NOT remove any applications or personal data from your device. 
    • While processing, the status under "Your devices" will display as "This device is being removed from your organization. You can set it up again when removal is complete." Once finished, you should no longer see your device and may see the message "This device hasn't been set up for corporate use yet. Select this message to begin setup."

To uninstall Intune Company Portal:

  1. Navigate to your device's Settings.
  2. On the left-hand menu, click on Apps > Installed apps.
  3. Using the search bar, search up "Company Portal." Alternatively, you can scroll through your apps until you see the "Company Portal" application.
  4. Click the three dots to the right of "Company Portal".
  5. Click "Uninstall".
    • The "Company Portal" is successfully uninstalled once you can no longer see it within your "Installed apps".

To uninstall Trellix:

  1. Open the "Control Panel" application on your device.
  2. Click on "Uninstall a program". This will usually be located under "Programs" or "Programs and Features". 
  3. Right-click or double-click the "Trellix Endpoint Security (HX) Agent" program.
  4. Click "Yes" to uninstall the Agent.
  5. Once uninstalled, you should no longer see the application "Trellix Endpoint Security (HX) Agent" in your applications.

To uninstall Qualys:

  1. Open the "Control Panel" application on your device.
  2. Click on "Uninstall a program". This will usually be located under "Programs" or "Programs and Features". 
  3. Right-click or double-click the "Qualys Cloud Security Agent" program.
  4. Click "Yes" to uninstall the Agent.
  5. Once uninstalled, you should no longer see the application "Qualys Cloud Security Agent" in your applications.
