How to View and Get a Copy of Your UCPath Paycheck Stub


Overview


UC San Diego employees may view their earnings statement (pay advice, paycheck stub) via UCPath beginning on June 01, 2020.

Steps to Take


  1. Log-in to UCPath https://ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu/.
  2. Click on View Paycheck straight from dashboard or processed with the following Menu Navigation: Employee Action>Income and Taxes> View pay check.
  3. Answer the security question.
  4. Locate the paycheck by date range or check number.
  5. Select the Download Attachment button to view check details.
  6. Log off.

Understanding your Paystub

Check DateThis field displays the check date.
View PaycheckClick the link to display the selected paycheck
CompanyThis field displays University of California.
Pay Begin DateThis field displays the first date of the pay period.
Pay End DateThis field displays the last date of the pay period.
Net PayThis field displays the employee’s net pay amount.
Paycheck NumberThis field displays the paycheck number.
PDF FileUCPath selects this check box for checks or advices generated in PDF format. If this check box is not selected, the paycheck appears in a non-PDF format.

 

 

Field/SectionDescription
1. UCPath Center (UCPC) InformationThis section displays the UCPath Center address and phone number and identifies where the payroll was processed.
2. Pay InformationThis section displays the employee’s business unit, pay begin and end dates, advice or check number and advice or check date.
3. Employee Personal DataThis section displays the employee’s name and address.
4. Employee Job DataThis section displays the employee’s ID, department, location, job title and current rate of pay.
5. Tax DataThis section displays the Federal and state tax information. These values are used in the tax calculation to determine the tax amount the employee owes for the pay period.
6. Hours and EarningsThis section displays earnings for the pay period and year-to-date (YTD) totals. For earnings during the pay period, the pay period begins and end dates, rate, hours and earnings amount appear. These current earnings are included in the year-to-date (YTD) hours and earnings amount columns. Earnings not included in the pay period but paid during the year are listed and YTD hours and earnings amounts for these earnings appear in the YTD columns.
Some imputed income items (financial benefits that are not received as cash but are considered income for tax purposes) also appear. Other sources of imputed income are shown in the EMPLOYER PAID BENEFITS section.
The total of the current and YTD columns appears at the bottom of the section.
7. TaxesThis section displays the employee’s Federal and state taxes withheld for the pay period and also year-to-date tax amounts.
  • Fed MED/EE is payment for the Medicare portion of Social Security.
  • Fed OASDI/EE is the employee’s portion of Social Security payments. The total of the current and YTD columns appears at the bottom of the section.
8. Before-Tax DeductionsThis section displays the description of each before-tax deduction in which the employee is enrolled with the current and YTD deduction amounts taken before taxes. The total of the current and YTD columns appears at the bottom of the section.
9. After-Tax DeductionsThis section displays the description of each after-tax deduction in which the employee is enrolled with the current and YTD deduction amounts taken after taxes. The total of the current and YTD columns appears at the bottom of the section.
10. Employer Paid BenefitsThis section displays contributions that UC makes on an employee’s behalf for certain benefits, such as medical and dental coverage. This is information only; it does not affect pay. It is not a total account of the employer-provided benefits.
Employer-paid benefits are Nontaxable Benefit with the exception of those marked with an asterisk (*) which are subject to imputed income. These also appear as a line item in the Hours and Earnings section.
11. Current and Year-to-Date TotalsThis section lists gross amounts, total deductions, and net pay, both for the current pay cycle and year-to-date.
12. Direct Deposit InformationThis section lists your Direct Deposit accounts. Each Direct Deposit account appears here. If you have more than one Direct Deposit account specified, each deduction is detailed in this section.
