In Kuali IRB, research teams can link their protocol application to a funding record in Kuali Research (teams or other systems may refer to it as a “UCSD Kuali Number”). Research teams are advised and encouraged to request the funding record information from the Research Administrator or Fund Manager in their department for their protocol application.
Select project funding for a Kuali Research record
In the application, under “Funding”, research teams will have multiple options:
- Green Box: The first choice indicates that a funding record has already been submitted in Kuali Research and can be linked to the study
- Blue Box: The second choice indicates that a funding record is in the process of being submitted in Kuali Research or will be submitted.
If the first option (Green box in screenshot above) is selected, the following gadget will display after you answer additional questions about “Federal” or “Non-Federal” sources of funding:
- Green box: Award Record; select this radio button for records in Kuali Research that have a number sequence similar to:
- Yellow Box: Institutional Proposal record; select this radio button for records in Kuali Research that have a number sequence similar to:
- Blue Box: Proposal Development record; select this radio button for records in Kuali Research that have a number sequence similar to:
Once the research team has entered the appropriate record number and selected the correct radio button, make sure to click the Find and add button. The Kuali Research record should display in the protocol application:
