How to Locate Approval Correspondence in Kuali IRB

When a study is approved in Kuali IRB, the research team will receive an email notification.  They are able to navigate to the study application through the link provided in the email or by logging into Kuali IRB and opening the study application on their Manage Protocols screen.

Once the user has their study application open, they want to ensure the correct version is selected (Yellow box in screenshot below) and then they click on the Activity Log which is located along the top of the application (Green box in screenshot below):

Once the Activity Log is open, the user will find “Correspondence Generated” and click on that (Blue box in screenshot below):

This will open the “Approval Letter” in a new browser tab where it can be “printed” or “Saved to PDF” using the browser Print function.

  1. For Google Chrome browser, users can select the three vertical buttons in the top right of their screen and the click “Print”.  Users will have the option to select a printer connected to their computer or to “Save to PDF”
  2. For Apple Safari browser, users can select “File” then “Print”.  Click the options pop-up menu (in the separator bar), choose Safari, then set the web page printing options.  If you don’t see the options pop-up menu in a separator bar to the right of the page preview, click Show Details at the bottom of the Print dialogue.  To create a PDF of the web page, click PDF at the bottom of the dialogue, then choose what you want to do with the PDF.
  3. For the Mozilla Firefox browser, click the menu button fx57menu and then click Print…  This will open a print preview for the web page and the user can choose their printing options, whether a connected printer or “Save to PDF”.
