Overview
If setting up the network for the first time goes wrong, it is best to forget the network on your device to reset any of the settings that were not configured properly.

- General campus wifi is called UCSD-PROTECTED while guests can log in via UCSD-GUEST.
- Students living in the residential areas can connect to RESNET-PROTECTED.
Steps to Take
Windows
- Click Network icon in the bottom right (on bottom toolbar)
- Look for UCSD networks that you want to forget, such as UCSD-PROTECTED, RESNET-PROTECTED, and UCSD-GUEST. For each network, right click on it then click Forget.
Mac
- Open System Preferences > Network
- In list on left, click Wi-Fi. Click the button Advanced in the lower right corner.
- On the Wi-Fi tab, under "Preferred Networks," look for the UCSD networks you want to forget such as UCSD-PROTECTED, RESNET-PROTECTED, and UCSD-GUEST. For each network, click on them then "-" button in the middle left. Click Ok.
- Click "Apply" after closing the drop down window or else the settings will not save.
Android Devices and Chromebooks
- Go to your settings
- Go to Connections > click "Wi-Fi"
- Click the ellipsis menu on the top right corner and click "Advanced."
- Click "Manage networks"
- Find the network you want to forget and click on it.
- Click "Forget"
- Click "Forget" one more time to confirm. You now see that the network is no longer in the previous list.
iPhones
- Go to Settings and click on "Wi-Fi"
- Click on the blue i in the circle at the right of the network you are trying to forget, such as UCSD-PROTECTED, RESNET-PROTECTED, and UCSD-GUEST
- Click "Forget This Network"
- Click "Forget" to confirm in the pop up window.
