How to Manually Enter Overtime Hours in UCPath

OVERVIEW

Overtime is a calculated value based on the work week, which is defined as 5 days @ 8 hrs. each day for a total of 40 hours. Overtime can be earned via exceeding the daily rule (8 hrs. per day), or exceeding the weekly 40 hr. limit.

Example – Weekly Overtime could be earned if an employee worked Mon-Fri regular hours and then worked 4 hours on Saturday, which would qualify them for 4 hours of overtime.

Example – Daily Overtime would be earned if an employee worked Mon-Wed regular hours, and 10 hours each day for Thur-Fri, which would qualify them for 4 hours of overtime.

There is no manual entry in Ecotime that allows the Ecotime team or a timekeeper to report hours.  This must be done in UCPath on an E-078 (Payroll Request Page).

Overtime Earn Codes = OTS and OTP.

If an employee is being paid overtime, both OTS and OTP Earn Codes must be reported.  The OTP Earn Code pays only .4501 of the total overtime hours, so if the OTS earn code is not applied, the employee will be underpaid.

To report OT in UCPath, you must make two entries. Using the example above, if an employee worked 4 OT hours that must be entered in UCPath, you must enter 4 hrs. OTS and 4 hours OTP.
