Local UCPath Resources 

• The UC San Diego UCPath website: https://ucpath.ucsd.edu contains helpful local UCPath resources for transactors as well as self-service users.  
• The UCPath Community of Practice (CoP) is a Microsoft Teams channel where all new and existing transactors can discuss and share their issues and experiences with the UCPath system. This channel will also be used to quickly share important UCPath system updates. Click to join the UCPath Community of Practice. 
• Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs), hosted in the Employee Center, contain step-by-step instructions or frequently asked questions related to HR topics. KBAs hosted in the Budget & Finance Knowledgebase contain information related to GL topics. 
• The Business Analytics Hub contains locally developed reports that you can use to view UCPath-related data.

UCPath Center Resources 

• The UCPath Transactor Help Site contains training resources developed by the UCPath Center such as job aids, guided simulations, and more. The resources here are also referred to as User Productivity Kits or UPKs. Check out the UCPath Help Site Overview for more information on navigating this site. 
• The UCPath Center Knowledge Base, accessed by logging into UCPath and clicking on the yellow Ask UCPath button, contains Knowledge Base Articles (KBAs) developed by the UCPath Center. 
• The UCPath Location Support Site contains additional resources developed by the UCPath Center such as important project roadmap information, metrics, and Operational Alignment Decks.

Navigating UCPath

Foundational knowledge about UCPath 

• Job Aid: HR Primary Job Derivation Logic Workflow - The HR Primary Job is considered an employee’s main job. This designation is important when an employee has multiple Empl Records. The HR Primary Job Indicator drives Location reporting and is used to track the Primary Job for HR purposes. The HR Primary Job information can be found on the first tab of Job Data. The Benefits Primary Job sets an employee’s Benefits Eligibility and drives benefit deductions and elections. Please refer to Job Aid: Benefit Eligibility & Triggers for more information. The HR Primary Job (E-024) and the Benefit Primary Job (E-042) are independent and derived by different processes. The criteria and derivation logic in the process step table below determine how UCPath derives each employee’s HR Primary Job. Use this job aid to understand the HR Primary Job derivation. 
• Job Aid: Job Data - Effective Sequence and Impacts - An employee’s Job Data history may include more than one Effective Sequence row with the same Effective Date. A new Effective Sequence row is created in Job Data when a new transaction is entered with the same Effective Date as an existing data row. Important information regarding Payroll 

• Job Aid: Review the Payroll Processing Schedule - UCPath uses the Payroll Processing Schedule to manage the execution of the payroll process. The schedule is standard across all Locations on UCPath. Locations use the schedule to plan and manage their deadlines and the deliverables that they are responsible for. Adherence to the schedule helps reduce payroll processing times and helps UCPath meet their deliverables. Use this job aid to understand how to read the Payroll Processing Schedule.
