Undergraduate Housing Waitlist & Academic Year Housing Options 

Overview 

This article explains the housing options available to undergraduate students who are seeking on-campus housing during the academic year but do not currently have a housing contract. 

Undergraduate Housing Waitlist 

Students who:

• Do not currently live on campus  
• Do not have a housing guarantee
• Or missed their housing deadlines  

may apply to the Undergraduate Housing Waitlist to be considered for on-campus housing during the academic year. 

Please note:

• Housing through the waitlist is not guaranteed. 
• Offers are dependent on available space and may be limited.  

Waitlist Availability

• The waitlist opens quarterly.
• Dates for each quarter are posted and updated on the Undergraduate Waitlist website. 
• All dates are subject to change.  

How Offers Are Made 

Housing offers are based on several factors, including: 

• Date of waitlist application
• Availability of spaces  
• Room type and facility availability  
• Gender compatibility with available spaces  

Students are encouraged to be as flexible as possible with their preferences to increase the likelihood of receiving an offer.

If on-campus housing is not immediately available, students are encouraged to explore off-campus options.

This site is available to UC San Diego affiliates and includes: 

• Rental listings 
• Roommate search tools  
• House-hunting tips and resources
