Fiscal Year End Funding Rollover in UCPath

Overview

This KBA provides information and FAQs on the 2026 Fiscal Year End (FYE) processes for UCPath. The rollover process will take the position funding that is effective on 6/30/2026 and roll it over to fiscal year 2027 with an effective day of 7/1/2026.

This year the Funding Entry Rollover will be processed from Monday 6/22/26 8AM – Tuesday 6/30/26 12PM. NO funding transactions should be entered on the Funding Entry Page or the MCOP Worksheet during these time periods. ALL funding transactions must be locally approved by End of Day on Sunday, 6/21/26.

Intended Audience: UCPath Transactors

FYE Rollover for Positions with Regular Funding Entry

Position funding effective 6/30/2026 or earlier will rollover to the next fiscal year: 2027

There are two conditions in which the current funding entry WILL NOT rollover:

  1. If funding effective in fiscal year 2027 has already been entered
  2. If a line in the funding distribution has a Funding End Date in the current fiscal year

FYE Rollover for Positions Funded Using the Salary Cap / MCOP Worksheet

MCOP worksheet lines with 6/30/2026 End Dates will be rolled over to FY 2027 with a Begin Date of 7/1/2026 on the new MCOP worksheet lines

There are three conditions in which funding WILL NOT rollover:

  1. If the distribution lines on the Funding Entry page have Funding End Dates; remember that Funding End Dates are different than the End Date in the Worksheet (Worksheet End Dates will not stop funding rollover)
  2. If any funding lines have been entered for the next fiscal year
  3. If salary component dollars have changed and resulted in new percentages by Earn Code from the prior fiscal year

Salary review actions and changes to compensation should be entered after the Salary Cap/MCOP Funding Entry Rollover process

If a department would rather enter salary changes early and load funding for the next FY via a Funding Entry transaction or a mass file (E-703), those records will be skipped by the rollover process

Note: If salary changes are entered early and then skipped in the rollover process, but the department forgets to add the new FY funding manually, all charges will hit the department's default funding source.

FAQs

Q. Can any 2027 funding be entered?

A. Yes. Be sure to choose 2027 in the Fiscal Year field when adding the future Funding Entry.

Q. What if a dept. had funding set to end 6/30/26 but also had new funding entered effective 7/1/26, would the 7/1/26 funding rollover or would it be dropped?

A. The funding ending 6/30/26 will not be rolled over to FY2027. User-entered future FY2027 funding that was entered and approved prior to the rollover will remain as entered.

Q. If any lines in the funding distribution have Funding End Dates, does this mean any end dates will not roll over - or is it only funding end dates within FY 2026?

A. Distribution lines with funding end dates (FUNDING_END_DT) that expire in the current/ending fiscal year will be replaced with the department-level chartstring containing Program code = END.

Note: If any row in the main Funding Entry page has an end date, MCOP will not rollover and position will be skipped.

Q. If there was funding with an end date of 12/31/2026, would that funding line rollover?

A. The funding row with an end date of 12/31/26 would rollover because the end date is in FY2027.
