How to Log into Triton Student System (Faculty & Staff)

Overview

This job aid provides step-by-step instructions for accessing the TSS website and signing in using your staff or faculty credentials.

Important

You will not be able to log in to TSS until your Campus Access Request Form (CARF) has been submitted and approved and your TSS access has been provisioned. Access requests from teams directly involved in TSS development, testing and launch preparation will continue to be prioritized. Other staff and faculty access requests may be reviewed and held for final approval until TSS becomes available in mid-July.

If you receive an access or sign-in error before that time, your access is likely still being processed. For more information about TSS roles, access requests, and the approval process, refer to the TSS Roles & Access Knowledge Base article.

Navigate to TSS

1. Open your web browser. Google Chrome is recommended. Navigate to the following website linked here.

2. Once you arrive at the TSS login page, click the large “UC San Diego” emblem shown in the middle of the screenshot.

The Triton Student System login page displays two sign-in options. On the left is the Extended Studies login with a yellow "Sign In with Extended Studies" button. On the right is the UCSD SSO login with a blue "Sign In with UCSD SSO" button. A red rectangle highlights the UCSD SSO sign-in option, indicating that employees and main campus students should select this option. The UC San Diego logo appears in the upper-right corner of the page.

 3. You will be taken to the Single Sign On. Complete your login with “Active Directory” in the dropdown.

The Signing on using: Active Directory login page is displayed. The User name (or email address) field contains a UC San Diego email address, and the Password field is filled with masked characters. To the right, the "Or sign on with:" drop-down is set to Active Directory. A blue LOGIN button appears below the password field. Links to Register and Reset password are also available.

4. Complete the two-factor authentication once more via Duo.

The Duo Mobile app displays a push notification asking, "Are you logging in to UCSD VPN?" The request is associated with UC San Diego Campus and shows the login time, an unknown location, and the username kablackburn. At the bottom of the screen are two large buttons: a red Deny button with an X icon and a green Approve button with a checkmark icon. The Approve button should be selected to complete the VPN sign-in if the login request was initiated by the user.

Welcome to The TSS Homepage

You will now be navigated to the TSS home page. It should look something like below.

The Triton Student System (TSS) Home page is displayed after a successful login. The navigation bar at the top includes the Home and Admin tabs, a menu icon, and the user's profile icon. The Pages section displays a Registrar Admin tile. Under Apps, the Favorites tab contains an Edit Event Offerings application tile. The Insights section is empty and displays a message indicating that no insight tiles have been added yet. A campus image serves as the background for the home page.

Note: You may receive a time out error after a period of inactivity.

The Triton Student System (TSS) Home page displays an Authentication Information pop-up window. The window contains a loading indicator with a blank document icon, indicating that authentication details are still loading. A Close button appears in the lower-right corner of the dialog. In the background, the TSS Home page is visible with navigation tabs across the top, application tiles on the left, and a search panel on the right. A loading message near the bottom of the page indicates that additional content is still being retrieved.

If you are not able to log back in by refreshing your browser, first ensure the VPN is still connected, open a new tab, and use the TSS login link to log back in. You should be taken back to the Trident Student System log in page and required to go back through the single sign on security layer
