How to Resolve a Housing Hold (HSNO, HSED, HSAD)
Overview
Housing holds can be placed for a variety of reasons. They will prevent access to various systems and services until the appropriate steps are taken for resolution. More information can be found below.
Types of Holds
HSNO Hold
An HSNO hold is assessed when there is a past-due housing balance on your account. The hold will affect registration eligibility and will prevent your ability to make changes to your current class schedule. It will also affect enrollment into waitlisted courses.
For current undergraduate residents, the hold will be removed once the past-due balance is paid in full. For current residents of Grad Family Housing, the hold will be removed once the overdue rent balance is brought down to 2 months or less. Former residents will need to pay their overdue housing balance in full. If the hold is not removed within 1 business day of payment, please contact the HDH office. You may submit a hold form request or call the HDH office at (858)534-4010. The balance can be paid online or at the TritonPay Office.
HSED Hold
An HSED hold will be placed if a student has been served a 3-day notice to vacate their housing space. This hold will prevent the ability to make any payments until it is lifted. To resolve this hold, undergraduate students must contact the HDH office and residents living at Grad Family Housing must contact their residential office.
HSAD Hold
An HSAD hold will be placed if a resident vacates their unit with an unpaid balance. This hold will affect eligibility to live on campus. It will be removed once the housing balance is paid in full. If you need further assistance with this hold, please contact the HDH office.
