HDH Undergraduate Housing Guarantee

Overview

Housing Guarantee

ShapeThe housing guarantee for Fall of 2023 at UC San Diego is a commitment made by the university to provide on-campus housing to all incoming first year students and first year transfer students who meet the housing guarantee eligibility.

The undergraduate class of Fall 2024 will receive a two-year housing guarantee. Students must reside in on-campus housing during the 2024-25 academic year or they will automatically forfeit their two-year housing guarantee.

Housing Guarantee Eligibility

*Students who participate in Education Abroad Programs, UC Washington Center (UCDC), late admission, admission deferment, or military leave maintain eligibility for the housing guarantee provided their guarantee has not expired. For example, a new incoming student for Fall 2023 received a two-year housing guarantee, their guarantee expires Spring 2025. The student is participating in a study abroad program for Spring 2025. They would not be guaranteed housing upon their return for Fall 2025 as their guarantee expired at the end of Spring Quarter 2025 (Year 1: Fall to Spring 2023-24; Year 2: Fall to Spring 2024-25).

Current Students with a Housing Guarantee

Continuing students with a two-year guarantee are eligible to participate in Room Selection to apply for on-campus housing.

Non-Guaranteed Students

Students who do not have a housing guarantee can apply to the Housing Waitlist.
