General Information
The Triton Registration Installment Plan allows eligible students to pay mandatory tuition and registration fees in three monthly installments (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarter) instead of one large payment at the start of the quarter.
Key Points to Know
- The enrollment fee is non-refundable and due at the time you sign up for TRIP.
- TRIP is available for Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer quarters.
- Any past due balance must be paid before you can enroll in TRIP.
- For students who enroll after the first billing due date, both the $65 enrollment fee and your first installment will be due immediately.

- You must be enrolled in classes with no account holds to join TRIP.
- Changes to your class schedule or financial aid after enrolling can change your monthly installment amounts.
TRIP Enrollment Options
For Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters, TRIP will divide your tuition and registration fees into three installments.
We offer two enrollment fee options each quarter:
- Early Enrollment Fee – $40
Enroll by the first billing due date of the quarter. - Enrollment Fee – $65
Applies if you enroll after the first billing due date of the quarter.
Enrolling early not only saves you money but also helps you avoid last-minute payment stress and gives you more time to budget for your monthly installments.

Enrolling in TRIP
If you would like to enroll in TRIP, please follow these instructions:
- Visit tritonpay.ucsd.edu and log into the TritonPay payment portal.
- Take a look at your overview page. If you have any past due balance, it must be paid before enrolling in TRIP. Otherwise, you will not be able to enroll in TRIP.
- Click on "Payment Plan" on the left side navigation and select “View Payment Plans Option”.
- This will prompt a side screen which will show you the details of the payment plan. Once you are ready, select “Enroll in Plan”.
- After you agree to all of the disclosures, you will be given a balance to pay which is the total of your first installment and an enrollment fee (see above). Once the payment is made, you will be enrolled in TRIP.
