By default, every student will be charged quarterly tuition for the academic year. This means that tuition will be due at the start of each quarter (Fall – September, Winter – December, Spring – March). If you require more time to make a payment, you may enroll in TRIP, or the Tuition Registration Installment Plan. TRIP divides up the tuition and mandatory registration fees into three monthly installments for each quarter.
There is a $40 non-refundable enrollment fee for each quarter that TRIP is active. This fee will automatically be included in the first month's payment.
If the first month's payment is not made, this will result in the cancellation of enrolled classes. If payments are not made for the second and third month's payment, this will result in a $50 late fee as well as a hold placed onto the account.
TRIP will only apply to tuition and registration fees. To make adjustments to the housing payment plan, please contact the Housing department at housinginfo@ucsd.edu
TRIP is not available for students that receive enough Financial Aid to pay for the entire tuition.
TRIP is not available for Summer Session.
The student must not have any holds prior to enrolling in TRIP.
You may only cancel TRIP, along with the $40 fee, for future quarters. You may not cancel TRIP for the current quarter.
