Requesting an Employee ID Card


Overview


New and existing UC San Diego employees can request an official campus ID card through the Campus Cards Office. The current cost for a new or replacement ID card is $25.00 (subject to change).

 

Determine Your Payment Method


Before starting your request, identify how your card will be funded:

 

 

Submit Your Photo


All ID cards require a professional photo.

  1. Upload your photo through the Online Photo Submission Tool
  2. Photo Criteria: Use a plain, white background with even lighting. Face forward with no hats, sunglasses, or masks.
  3. Wait for an email confirming your photo has been approved before proceeding with the next step.

 

Submit the Request Form


Once your photo is approved, complete the final administrative step:

  1. Fill out the Online Employee ID Card Request Form.
  2. Enter your COA information (if department-funded) or your eMarket receipt number (if self-funded).
  3. Approval: After the form is submitted, it is reviewed by your department and the Campus Cards Office. This typically takes 1–5 business days.
