How to Authorize a Payer in TritonPay


Overview


Authorizing a payer allows a family member or third party to view and pay your UC San Diego student bill. Students may authorize as many payers as needed. Student Financial Solutions (SFS) only discusses billing details with the student and their officially authorized payers to ensure privacy. 

 

Steps to Take


Instructions for Students

To grant someone access to your bill, follow these steps:

  1. Log in: Access TritonPay using your Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials.
  2. Navigate: On the left-hand menu, select My Account.
  3. Invite: In the "Payers" section, click Send a payer invitation.
  4. Complete: Enter the name and email address of the person you wish to authorize and click Send invitation.

Instructions for the Authorized Payer

Once the student sends the invitation, the payer must complete their profile setup:

  1. Check Email: You will receive an automated email from TritonPay with a temporary Username (Parent PIN) and Password.
  2. Access Account: Click the unique link provided in the email.
  3. Update Password: Upon your first login, you will be prompted to create a new, secure password.
  4. Confirmation: Once the password is updated, you can immediately view and pay student account charges.

Managing Multiple Students

If you are an authorized payer for more than one UC San Diego student, you can link them to a single login:

  1. Log in to TritonPay with your existing credentials.
  2. Click View a different student located to the right of the current student's name.
  3. Select Link to another student.
  4. Enter the Username (Parent PIN) and Password from the authorization email sent by the additional student.
  5. Toggle: You can now switch between student profiles at any time using the "View a different student" menu.
